What is a Speech Pathologist?

Speech Pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice. 

Speech Pathologists can help improve a child’s:

  • Speech clarity
  • Language
  • Literacy
  • Fluency
  • Voice quality
  • Feeding and swallowing skills

Who Do We Work With?

We work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, a learning disability, intellectual disability, complex disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, hearing loss, as well as other difficulties that can affect speech and language. People who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely can also be helped by a Speech Pathologist.

We have experience working with a range of individuals, whose communication difficulties/disorders include:

  • Speech e.g. lisp
  • Stuttering
  • Learning disorders/difficulties
  • Developmental Delays
  • Individuals of non-English speaking backgrounds
  • Language delays


We have experience working with children with a range of developmental disorders, including but not limited to:
